W: Beginning Basket Weaving (W-001)

PREREQUISITES
No prerequisites; no experience required.

MATERIALS
Students should bring an apron and an old bath-size towel.
Basket making materials are provided for an additional materials fee of $15.00 which is to be paid when you pay for registration.

OBJECTIVES
Learn basket-making techniques while weaving a flat-reed basket.

DESCRIPTION
During this 3-session class (2.5 hours per session), learn to work with flat reed to make a muffin basket with an overhead handle (shown) or 2 side handles. Approximate finished size is 5 (width) by 8 (length) by 5 (height) inches. See picture below and examples in the weaving display corner. NOTES: The instructor would like a minimum of 2 students for this class.
The class fee is $20.00 and the materials fee to the club is $15.00. Total to be paid at registration is $35.00.
